Skip NavigationPurple heart recipient Cpl Larry Bailey received the keys to his new smart home in Sumerduck, VA this month.
L&M Carpet One Floor & Home in Mechanicsville, VA donated the installation of the gorgeous flooring throughout the home, which is equipped with high tech features designed to provide independence to Cpl Bailey who sustained injuries from an explosive device, resulting in amputation of both of his legs above the knee, and loss of his left hand.
Matt Shelton from L&M Carpet One said of working on the project, “What an honor it has been to be a part of the home build for Cpl Larry Bailey. This new home will never repay the sacrifice that Larry Bailey and his fellow Marines have made for our Country. However, our hope is that this “Smart Home” will allow the Baileys to live comfortably and to make wonderful memories for years to come. Our family and business could not be more grateful for the opportunity that we had to be a part of such a worthy cause. We will forever hold a place in our hearts for Larry, his family and our military.”
The home was built as part of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers’ Building for America’s Bravest program which builds smart homes for catastrophically injured service members. Go to https://tunnel2towers.org/building-americas-bravest/about-bfab/ to learn more or to donate!
